Fore! Actually, four on the Fylde!
It’s very rare you will find four world-class golf courses within a few miles of each other.
But there are very few places in the world like St Annes.
Finding the fairways on the Fylde couldn’t be easier after you’ve booked a short stay with Charles Alexander Short Stay.
While we cannot promise to improve your swing, we can help you relax following a walk around some of the best kept greens in the UK.
All four courses are just a short “drive” from Windmill House in the heart of St Annes.
Want to walk in the footsteps of Faldo, Ballesteros or Tiger? Then “the home of golf” is just a short putt from our luxury apartments – Royal Lytham & St Annes is a mecca for golf enthusiasts, welcoming The Open last in 2012 when Ernie Els lifted the famous Claret Jug.
A warning though – you will have to book in advance to get yourself a round at Royal Lytham as it has a waiting list – but fear not, there are plenty of other courses within a short drive.
The Old Links is one of the courses used for the pre-tournament at Royal Lytham and is just yards from the beach so there are plenty of cross-winds to test the golfer.
The Old Links has been voted in Golf World’s January 2019’s issue one of the”Top 100 Courses in England 2019″ and also ranked 79th in “England’s Top 100 courses 2019” and 9th on England’s North West Coast by National Club Golfer.
Green Drive golf course in Lytham has also provided the setting for various qualifying rounds for The Open and has produced many professionals over the years. It has a reputation for being one of the more pleasant “parkland” courses with no huge bunkers so might be better for the more amateur golfer.
Finally, Fairhaven Golf Club is another course well worth checking out. Originally a 12-hole course adjacent to Fairhaven Lake in 1892, it moved to its present location next to Lytham Hall in 1924.
The Amateur Golf Championship takes place at the Old Links course in St Annes from June 13-18.
