Dear Guests,

Welcome to your Charles Alexander Short Stay apartment, at ANSDELL HOUSE.

We wish you a happy and relaxing time during your stay. So why not begin by putting your feet up and enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits with our compliments.

We ask that you take a few moments to read the following information, which we hope you may find helpful whilst visiting Blackpool. 

Wi-Fi

We offer free WiFi and the code is displayed in the house. Please do not remove wifi devices from the house. 

Do's and Don'ts!

Heating – The house benefits from gas central heating, which is set on a timer to come on automatically at regular periods throughout the day. A thermostat is located on the wall in the downstairs hallway, which can be used to control the temperature. The white circle acts as a dial and is touch sensitive – run your finger along the dial in a clockwise direction to turn the temperature up, and anticlockwise to reduce the temperature. Do please turn the heating down when not required and when the house is not in use.

Rubbish – Please ensure bins are emptied at the end of your stay, and use recycling bins where available. Bins are located at the front of the house and bin collection day is a Wednesday.

No Smoking / No Candles Policy

A charge of £250 will be made if evidence of smoking is found in the house.

Electrical Equipment & Chargers – please do ensure that these are unplugged at night and when leaving the house unattended.

Noise   With respect we ask you to consider our neighbours particularly between the hours of 10:00PM and 08:00AM.

Entrance Door – Please do ensure the front and back doors are secure after entering and departing the house. This is for your own security.

We ask that internal doors are closed at night to reduce the risk of any fire spreading.

Breaks and Spills

Please inform us of any breakages so we can provide replacements. Also please let us know of any spills and stains which may need our attention. 

There may be a charge involved.

Departure Day and Time – At the end of your stay please leave the house by 10:00AM and return your keys to the lock box. Please ensure bins are emptied at the end of your stay.

Instruction Manuals – We have placed instruction manuals for the electrical equipment in a box in the utility room. Please leave these in the house so other guests may refer to them as required. 

Bedding and Towels – For stays of more than one week we will provide a change of bedding for each bedroom and fresh towels for the bathroom and kitchen. If you require a more frequent change we are happy to arrange this for a small additional charge.

Hairdryer – A hairdryer is supplied and is located in the bedroom.

Ironing – An iron and ironing board can be found in the utility room.

Parking

There is unrestricted street parking at the front of the house, which is subject to availablity.

Local Shops & Supermarkets – The nearest convenience store is Tesco Express Located at 61-67 Ansdell Road (3 minute walk). If you’d like to fill up the fridge, you could try Lidl located on Bloomfield Road, only a 2 minute drive or 5 minute walk away. 

Public Transport and taxis – For bus routes and times please go to Blackpool Transport There are a number of taxi services operating in Blackpool, including Premier Taxis (01253 401000) C Cabs (01253 292929) and BlackTax (01253 596596) Please note that Blackpool does not operate an Uber service.

Restaurants – Blackpool is a mecca for restaurants and fine dining with eateries to suit all taste buds. From traditional fish & chips on the Promenade to some five-star dining establishments across the town centre. For a comprehensive list of all the best, please visit Blackpool Food and Drink.

FIRE SAFETY

We consider our guests’ safety and the risk of fire to be of utmost importance. The house is fitted with smoke detectors, which will alert you should a fire start. 

A fire blanket is located in the kitchen.

Escape Plan

To exit the building please follow the FIRE EXIT SIGNS in the communal areas. 

What to do in the event of a fire? – !! GET OUT, STAY OUT !!

  1. If safe to do so, evacuate the building using the stairs. Leave your belongings behind.
  2.  
  3. Assemble on the pavement away from the house where it is safe to do so.
  4.  
  5. Contact the fire service on 999.

Carbon Monoxide Advice – For your safety, a carbon monoxide detector is located in the house. If the alarm sounds, please open all windows and doors, evacuate the house and call Gas Emergency Services on 0800 111 999. Please seek medical advice.
